I will be away at the GLACIE conference in Toronto for much of this week (W - F) learning about strategies for collaboration in education. In my absence, the students have a busy week as well. We have two presentations by the John Howard Society, focusing on youth and the law. As well, we will be entertained by the Grade 6 band. This is a peak recruitment time for the band teachers, and it would be worthwhile to have a conversation about enrolling your child in band for their Grade 6 year. I think the Grade 6 band program is a wonderful experience for children, and can teach them much more than the instrument they have chosen.
Here's what we'll be up to this week:
Tuesday (Day 3) - Core French w/ Mr. Kardynal, Arts Ed. w/ Mrs. Meredith
Wednesday (Day 4) - Mr. Howse in Toronto, Phys. Ed. w/ Ms. Bechard
Thursday (Day 5) - Gr. 6 Band performance, JHS presentation (pt 1), Core French w/ Mr. Kardynal
Friday (Day 1) - JHS presentation (pt 2)
