Wednesday (Day 3) - Last day of classes! Final assembly at 9:15 am, 2:30 dismissal

June 17th - 21st

Well, here we are! The last full week of the school year! It has been a remarkable year for these students and I am blown away by the growth they have shown! It makes me sad to think that I will be leaving this school in a few short weeks, but I could not have assembled a better group of students to call my last Hawrylak class!

We are very busy this week (surprise!) and will be feverishly trying to put the final touches on any last minute projects or presentations. Here is a snippet of what we will be up to this week:

Monday (Day 1) - Mr. Hoffman and Ms. Skoczylas here for Gr. 6 band tests, Math cumulative review begins, Band registration night at Balfour Collegiate (5:30 - 8:30)
Tuesday (Day 2) - Phys. Ed. w/ Ms. Bechard
Wednesday (Day 3) - Core French w/ Mr. Kardynal, Arts. Ed. w/ Mrs. Meredith, baseball w/ Ms. Grodecki's class (Teams 2 & 3)
Thursday (Day 4) - Phys. Ed. w/ Ms. Bechard, Class Party at Wonderland Arcade! (12-2pm)
Friday (Day 5) - Mr. H. @ tech meeting (am), Core French w/ Mr. Kardynal, Gr. 8 Farewell

Swimming Note

June 10th - 14th

It's hard to believe that there are only 12 more days of school left this year! We have worked extremely hard all year, and have achieved more than I even thought possible. We are through all units of our math program, and have finished all division assessments for the Spring. Now is the time that we will begin some cumulative review to try to prevent the dreaded summer slide! I would encourage you to register your son or daughter in the Regina Public Library's Summer Reading Program to keep them from losing some of the progress they have made in their reading throughout the year. It's free and there are great prizes available!

This week also marks the return of Roughrider football after a long off-season! The Riders will travel to Edmonton on Friday for a pre-season matchup against the Eskimos, but there wil be plenty of Green and White here at Hawrylak the day before!

Thursday (Day 5) - Core French w/ Mr. Kardynal, Phys. Ed. in mini gym
Friday (Day 1) - Baseball w/ Ms. Grodecki's class (Teams 1 vs. 4)

EYES Workshop

Today we have a lot of fun with Colton And Keneni. They visit our class they are from EYES they are here to teach us about Humpty Dumpty,Colton and Keneni told us to make a helmet for our poor eggs.

When our helmets are done Colton and Keneni tested our eggs with the helmet that we made they used a 5 pound bolt and drop it into our eggs 3 times first there are 3 bolts if it survived then 5 bolts if it survived they are gonnna drop it higher some eggs did not survive and some did.

3 eggs survived then there is another test called the godzilla test the test work is Colton is the godzilla and he's supposed to step on them but one egg survived two times.

May 27th - 31st

It's good to be home again! I was away for a conference in Toronto for much of last week, and it sounds as if I missed my share of excitement. This will be another busy week, so below is a snapshot of what we'll be doing.

Friday (Day 1) - Baseball/kickball games (1 vs 2, 3 vs 4)

PS - Next Monday is our trip to Douglas Park for the multi-school track meet. It is imperative that all students have their permission notes signed and their bus money submitted ASAP. Weather permitting, it will be a fabulous day!
