CREATE is a program in Regina Public Schools which brings artists in all strands of the fine arts (musicians, visual artists, dancers, and actors) into the classroom to reinforce curricular areas. For this Fall session, our class was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to work with Bob King. "King Bob", as he likes to be called, is a local children's musician who has been involved with the CREATE program for years.
Over three separate sessions with King Bob, our class had the chance to flex their vocabulary muscles and pen their own songs. We also wrote a song collaboratively, and it was incredible to watch the songwriting process take shape in such an organic way. Kudos to Nathan, whose original lyric, "Don't lose hope, it's gonna be alright" served as the foundation for our amazing tune! No word from iTunes yet, but take a listen for yourself!
